Product Description Repositionable toys include a soft hanging monkey, a soft toucan with jingle, an elephant with soft ears and a spinner with beads, a parrot with a paddle spinner and a frog character mirror. Two satin butterflies fly around above baby as colored lights pulse on and off while music plays. The large mat has a quilted rainforest underside, sun ray ribbons, and a soft tiger tail. A large soft giraffe sits at the bottom of the rainbow arch and has two points on which to link toys for baby. Mom can also link the toys to any of three link points on the mat as well as to any of five link points overhead for a total of 11 places to link toys for baby. Mom can choose between three modes of play: Baby mode allows baby's play time movements to set off eight to 12 seconds of lights and music. Music mode plays music for 20 minutes while baby plays. Rainforest mode plays 20 minutes of rainforest sounds while baby plays. The gym provides four songs and two sound effects sequences. Requires 2-C batteries, not included. Gym measures 20" x 32.5" x 32.5".

Wonderful! December 30, 2008 This is a great gym! My son played with this from birth to 1 year old. My second son loves it as well(3 months old). They would at times even spend up to an hour playing in the gym. They love the lights, music and the animals. I would highly recommend this!
There are better playmats out there. December 30, 2008 I have twins, and bought two playmats - this one and the Baby Einstein. I have to say the Baby Einstein wins hands-down, though this one does have some nice features. I would give it 5 stars if it only had more toys on it to hold baby's attention, but it is very sparsely populated in the toy department.
Pros:
has nice music and a couple of flashing lights
has a detachable monkey which the babies LOVE - they try to eat him every chance they get
babies also like the elephant rattle and spinning wheel toy
babies like looking at the playmat animals during tummy time - very cute design!
Cons:
There definitely aren't enough toys on this! If they don't want to include more toys, at least include enough toy holders so you can add your own.
The toys that are included aren't all that interesting, with the exception of the three I mentioned. The Baby Einstein toys are MUCH more interactive for baby.
The mirror on the giraffe points in the wrong direction - not toward the center of the mat as in the ad, but parallel with the edge, a position in which the baby would never be. I have to hold the mirror for baby to see herself during tummy time. No way to get it to point in the right direction.
To my horror, I turned around to see baby holding the mirror that had fallen out of the red frame and was about to chomp down - it's a thin, very sharp disc. Baby would easily have cut herself. It's constantly falling out - I've had to restick that $@#! thing a dozen times and watch the babies like a hawk. I've tried to glue it in, but need stronger glue I suppose.
The butterflies at the top should spin - seems like they are supposed to spin, since they are on a mobile that rotates - but they do nothing, and are too high up for babies to reach. Are we supposed to spin it for the babies? It's in an awkward position for this. Maybe mine is broken.
Overall I'd say this is cute, but kind of worthless overall and expensive. There are much better playmats out there. I have the rainforest bouncy seat which the girls absolutely love, which is why I bought this playmat, but now wish I hadn't.
Fisher-Price Rainforest Melodies & Lights Deluxe Gym December 28, 2008 THE RAINFOREST MATT IS SO CUTE. IT IS ADORABLE. IT HAS SEVERAL LIGHT AND OR MUSIC COMBINATIONS TO CHOOSE FROM. IT ALSO HAS A RAINFOREST SOUND, THAT YOU HEAR WATER TRICKELING DOWN A STREAM, FAINT FOREST SOUNDS, ECT. IT IS GREAT, JUST WISH THE MATT WAS A LITTLE BIGGER.
Love this gym! December 18, 2008 I got this for my twins, they are 1 and they still love it. A lot of people have seen it and commented on how nice it is. I love that it can play music when they move and touch things. My twins found constant light and sound too much but they like the cause and effect of this toy and toys like it. I highly recommend this gym.
I love it.... December 16, 2008 This is very good product for babies. when you want them to put down and do some work or let them do some workout.
